Quilt of Hope unveiled in Sandwell for 16 Days of Action against Gender-Based Violence

A community quilt, made by women and children affected by domestic abuse and modern slavery, has been unveiled in Sandwell.
The quilt was created in October, as the women and children of the Black Country Women’s Aid refuge services came together to share their thoughts, experiences and hurt of violence and abuse and the impact that it had on their lives.

The consultation on the draft Sandwell Local Plan finishes at 5pm on Monday 18 December.
The Plan is a document that plans for the future development of our borough. It sets out how and where we expect to build the new homes we need up to 2041, and what land is required to accommodate new jobs.
Health research in Sandwell given £5million boost

Sandwell Council has been awarded up to £5 million funding from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
The funding will be used to boost the council’s ability to carry out research that is used to inform decisions that will help improve outcomes for residents.
